What data I collect
If you subscribe to Backstage Notes, your email address. No name, no company, no job title. And, if you say yes to the measurement cookies, what I explain below.
If you write to me through a contact form: your name, your company if you give it, your email and your message. They are stored in this site’s database and reach me by email. I only use them to reply to you.
One new thing: this site uses Google Analytics. I want to know which pages get read and which don’t, so I can write better. That’s all.
It only runs if you say yes in the cookie notice. If you say no, or say nothing, Google Analytics is not loaded. If you say yes, Google sets measurement cookies and learns which pages you visit, from which country and on what kind of device. Google is a US company (Google LLC), so that data travels there. I have switched off advertising and profiles.
You can change your mind any time from the «Cookies» link at the bottom of each page.
If you book a 15-minute call, you do it through Calendly, a US company. Calendly stores your name, your email and what you write when you book. I only use that to prepare the call and reply to you. Nothing from Calendly loads until you click the button. The call takes place on Google Meet.
Everything else stays as it was: no social media pixels, and the server keeps access logs, like any web server.
What for, and on what basis
To send you one email a month. The basis is your consent: you sign up yourself, and then confirm it from your inbox before the subscription is active. That confirmation is recorded with its date.
If you write to me: to reply. The basis is your own request: you wrote to me.
What the emails record
The emails record whether they are opened and whether a link is clicked. It tells me whether a piece is read. If you would rather that was not recorded for you, write to me and I will switch it off.
Where the data is kept
In the database of this site, with MailPoet. Sending is handled by the MailPoet service. The data is not shared, not sold, and not used for anything else.
For how long
Until you unsubscribe. Every email carries the link at the bottom, and it works.
Messages from the contact form: for as long as we are in conversation. After that I delete them, or sooner if you ask.
What you can ask me for
To know what I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to hi@guacimara.ch and the answer comes from me.
Form protection
The forms on this site use Google reCAPTCHA v3 to stop automated submissions from bots. You don’t tick boxes or solve puzzles: on pages with a form, Google looks at technical data from your visit, such as your IP address, your browser or how the cursor moves, and estimates whether a person is writing.
It loads even if you decline cookies, because without it the forms fill up with spam. The basis is exactly that interest: that what you write actually reaches me. The service is provided by Google Ireland Limited, and the data may reach Google servers in the US. More in Google’s privacy policy.
Typefaces
The fonts on this site load from Google Fonts, which means your IP address reaches Google when the page opens.
